Terms & Conditions

Cancellations

If you cancel an order due to a change of mind, Big Kitchen Warehouse reserves the right to apply a 2% handling charge to cover administration and card processing costs. This charge will be applied at our discretion.

Pricing & Offers

All prices and promotional offers displayed on this website are subject to availability.

Delivery & Defects

Big Kitchen Warehouse offers delivery at the prices displayed on the website at the time of ordering. Any delivery exclusions can be found on our Delivery Information page.

Delivery is a one-person service. Customers must provide assistance when required.

Delivery will be attempted once on an agreed date with the customer (normally a specific day, with the driver contacting you approximately one hour before arrival). If the customer is unavailable to accept delivery without providing at least 24 hours’ notice, an additional delivery charge may apply.

All goods must be checked and signed for upon delivery. Any defects or damage must be reported within 24 hours of receipt.

Goods must be thoroughly inspected before any cutting, drilling or installation takes place, and before your kitchen fitter begins work. Big Kitchen Warehouse cannot be held responsible for any fitting or installation costs incurred.

Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013

Right to Cancel

You have the right to cancel this contract within 14 days from the day on which you, or a third party other than the carrier and indicated by you, acquires physical possession of the goods.

To exercise your right to cancel, you must inform Big Kitchen Warehouse of your decision by a clear statement (for example, by letter or email).

Effects of Cancellation

If you cancel this contract, we will reimburse all payments received from you, including the cost of standard delivery (except for any supplementary costs arising if you chose a delivery method other than the least expensive standard delivery offered by us).

We may make a deduction from the reimbursement for any loss in value of the goods where that loss is the result of unnecessary handling by you.

We will process your reimbursement without undue delay and no later than:

a) 14 days after the day we receive the returned goods;

b) If earlier, 14 days after you provide evidence that the goods have been returned; or

c) If no goods were supplied, 14 days after we are informed of your decision to cancel this contract.

We will reimburse you using the same method of payment used for the original transaction unless you have expressly agreed otherwise. Where applicable, a 25% restocking charge may be deducted. We may withhold reimbursement until we have received the returned goods or you have supplied satisfactory proof of return, whichever occurs first.

You must return the goods to us without undue delay and no later than 14 days after notifying us of your cancellation. You will be responsible for the direct cost of returning the goods.

Your delivery information, including your name, address and contact details, will be shared only with our trusted delivery partners to enable them to fulfil your order. These companies also operate under strict privacy and data protection policies.

A couple of legal points worth reviewing

While updating these, two clauses stood out:

  • 2% cancellation fee for change-of-mind cancellations may not be enforceable in all circumstances under UK consumer law unless it reflects genuine costs incurred.
  • 25% restocking charge on cancelled orders can also be problematic for consumer sales, particularly where the order falls under the Consumer Contracts Regulations.
